Lobi Stars FC playmaker, David Tyavkase says two key things have been responsible for his longevity in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Tyavkase first played in the Nigerian top flight in 2003 with Enyimba FC and cites his faith in God and self-belief as what has kept him in the game this long. He has also played for the defunct Sharks FC and had stints abroad before returning to team up with Lobi Stars.
“I have always had faith in God that I will play as long as I want to and I never stopped believing in myself too,” he told npfl.ng.
“I know I still have the strength to play this game for a few more seasons and I am indeed enjoying my game.”
Lobi Stars are currently sixth on the log and Tyavkase insists they work hard for results and have a target for the season.
“We work hard every time we play. We want to be on the continent next season and we are working hard at it.
“Our target is simply to get a ticket to play on the continent. You know we missed it last season but this year, we will try not to throw it away,” Tyavkase said.
Last season, Lobi Stars finished in fifth place missing out on playing in the CAF Confederation Cup by just three points.
